Abstract
Mapillary is a collaborative street-level imagery platform powered by computer vision. Making images and data available to improve cities, build the maps of the future and create safer transportation. Together with Maptime Mi, this event will be a workshop covering the basics of how to use Mapillary from the ground-up: capturing street-level photos, uploading them, then analyzing the photos and derivative data to improve maps and spatial models of the local area. Technical instruction will cover the Mapillary API, extracting GeoJSON data for image locations, using Mapillary vector tiles, and editing OpenStreetMap with Mapillary.

Maptime Mi is a regular map meeting in Milano, inspired by the original idea from the amazing folks over at Stamen Design in San Francisco Starting in December 2014, they meet to work and draw on maps, learn about geospatial data, and teach each other the latest cartographic tools. Maptime is, rather literally, time for mapmaking. The mission is to open the doors of cartographic possibility to anyone interested by creating a time and space for collaborative learning, exploration, and map creation using mapping tools and technologies. Monthly catch up meeting in Opendot every fourth Thursday, everyone is welcome from experts to newbies!
