Per il settimo anno, OpenDot ospita la Fab Academy, il principale corso di fabbricazione digitale della rete mondiale dei Fab Lab. Il corso, che si terrà da metà gennaio a fine giugno 2022, si suddivide tra lezioni in inglese tenute in videoconferenza da Neil Gershenfeld del MIT di Boston e la pratica presso il nostro Fab Lab.
Responsabile del programma: Enrico Bassi, coordinatore di OpenDot, docente universitario in NABA, Domus Academy, SUPSI, LABA, Università di Bologna e allievo a sua volta della Fab Academy nel 2014.
Instructor: Antonio Garosi, diplomato Fab Academy nel 2018.
How to Make (Almost) Anything
La Fab Academy ha l’obiettivo di formare studenti in grado di contribuire al network globale che comprende quasi 2000 Fab Lab nel mondo, acquisendo competenze pratiche, imparando una metodologia per gestire problematiche complesse e sviluppando un progetto dall’idea al prodotto finito in poco tempo.
Durante i sei mesi in OpenDot si impara quindi a immaginare, prototipare e documentare le proprie idee attraverso numerose ore di esperienza pratica con nuove tecnologie e strumenti di fabbricazione digitale: si spazia dalla programmazione alla progettazione dell’elettronica, dalla stampa 3D alla lavorazione dei compositi. Il corso porta i partecipanti a comprendere fino in fondo cosa sia e come usare la fabbricazione digitale all’interno di progetti propri ed altrui. E sono così pronti a sfruttarla autonomamente nel proprio percorso professionale.

For the seventh year, OpenDot hosts the Fab Academy, the world’s leading digital fabrication course for the Fab Lab network. The course, which will be held from mid-January to the end of June 2022, is divided between lectures held in videoconference by Neil Gershenfeld of MIT in Boston and practice at our Fab Lab.

The Fab Academy aims to train students able to contribute to the global network that includes nearly 2000 Fab Lab in the world, acquiring practical skills, learning a methodology to manage complex problems and developing a project from the idea to the finished product in little time.
During the six months in Opendot you learn to imagine, prototype and document your ideas through numerous hours of practical experience with new technologies and digital manufacturing tools: ranging from programming to design of electronics, from 3D printing to composites processing. The course leads participants to fully understand what it is and how to use digital fabrication within their own projects and others. And they’re so ready to take advantage of it on their own career path.
